A boat marketplace where every listing has to prove the boat exists. Built for Insiders, opening to Captains first.
Boats For Sale is being built now. Free to list, the way it should be. Here is exactly how it will work, and why it will not look like anywhere else you have shopped for a boat.
The Proof Shot
Nearly every fraudulent boat listing on the internet uses photos stolen from somewhere else — another listing, a dealer site, somebody’s Facebook. It is the single most common way buyers get taken.
So every listing on Saltwater Insider will require two photographs before it can publish:
Ninety seconds for an honest seller. Impossible for a scammer three thousand miles away who does not have the boat.
The Rest of the Gauntlet
- Phone verified by text. One account per number, and that number shows on the listing.
- Real names. Seller name, seller type — private owner, broker or dealer. No handles.
- HIN required. Twelve characters, on the listing, checkable.
- Title status stated. Clear title in hand, lien, documented vessel, or no title. Said out loud, up front.
- A real asking price. No “call for price.”
- Manual review before publish. Every listing. Every time.
- Ninety day expiry. Sold boats and stale listings clear themselves off the board.
We Never Touch the Money
No escrow. No deposits. No payments of any kind through Saltwater Insider, ever.
Buyer and seller handle the transaction directly, the way a dock deal has always worked. Nearly every boat-buying scam happens at the payment step — the fake escrow site, the overpayment refund, the reversed transfer. We are not in that step, so neither are you.
Captains First
The board opens to Captains before it opens to everyone. Captains know every boat for sale on their dock, they know the owners, and they know which ones are honest. That is a better starting inventory than any amount of open signup.
If you run a boat and you want first position when this opens, you already know where to find us.
